Peacefully in Ajax Tuesday Feb. 3, 2015.
Loving mother to Joe Albert, Janie Dell‘Anno (George), Randy Albert( Libby).
Beloved Grandmother of Kathy Young ( Mark), Sean Albert, Jennifer Albert, Andrea Hargraves (Matthew), Leslie Alexandra Albert, Jessica Albert and Victoria Dell‘Anno.
Lovingly remembered by Brother Kenneth Kyle (Maureen), Sisters Christina Crawford, Joan Bradford. Marion Whalen (Ivan), Sister-in-law Edith Kyle.
Predeceased by her parents William & Laura Kyle, sister Katherine Trainor and brother Charles.
She will be greatly missed by her many nieces and nephews and extended family in Saint John, NB.
Claire will be sadly missed by all those whose lives she touched. Always the best dressed woman in the room , she was an inspiration to the generations who followed. Her career in fashion retailing included positions at The Bay, Sears, Dylex and Town Topic on the "Golden Mile". She developed her keen eye for quality at Kelps Clothing Store in her home town of Saint John and her fashion sense was apparent early.
She loved growing up in Saint John, in a closely knit family that informed the strong sense of family unity she imparted to her own children, even as a working mom when that was still not common. And after settling in Toronto with her husband Ralph Albert and 3 children in 1957, return visits each summer ensured that her own children always felt they had a home in Saint John.
Claire was a proud and private person, who worked hard but she also loved dancing and music. Never one to cling to the past, you would always hear current hits on the radio that kept her company. And idle hands were not for Claire, whether gardening, decorating, crocheting, or babysitting her grandchildren as their moms went to work, visiting her granddaughter Kathy out west, travelling to Vegas with Janie or enjoying her epic trip to Germany she had a zest for life.
After her marriage of 25 years ended, Claire found love again when she met Emille LaChance. They shared more than 30 years together. When Alzheimer's began to steal Claire's vitality and independence, Emille supported and cared for her at home until his sudden death.
Claire then moved into Winbourne Park in Ajax, closer to her children.

Thank you to the caregivers and staff at Winbourne Park for their dedication and wonderful care of our Mother.
