Dawn Esther Mangaru was born in Brooklyn Settlement Sandre Grande Trinidad on March 10, 1956. She was the cherished mother of Marlon, Malika, Mika-el and Matthias and the Grand Mother of Nikeal, Dae'el and Daesiah. She was unique in that she shared two mothers Mrs. Daphne Beckles and Mrs. Ruby Leader. She was a loving and devoted sister to her three brothers David, Brian and Anthony. She was preceded in death by her two fathers Pastor George Beckles and Rev. Samuel J. Leader. Dawn's ambition led her to migrate from the island of Trinidad to Canada after completing High School in Trinidad, in search of a better life.

While in Canada, she lived a bountiful and passionate life and worked tirelessly. She loved serving God and was happy travelling, wearing the latest fashions and singing, but was passionate about her family. She sent cards, pictures and her phone calls were always expected. She recently sneaked into a family reunion to surprise us and what a joyful surprise it was. Dawn was a positive role modell to everyone and walked in faith while showing compassion and care for the patients in her care as she faithfully carried out her duties as a Patient Care Giver at the Nursing Home where she was gainfully employed.

Dawn enjoyed her sojourn here in Canada but she was excited about the prospects of securing real estate in Trinidad where she intended to visit more frequently to reconnect with her roots. God had another plan and called her home.

Let us celebrate her remarkable life, and remember her as someone who touched our lives and made it better by sharing grace and compassion to everyone she met. Elizabeth Kubler Ross described Dawn perfectly when she said "people are like stained glass, they sparkle and shine when the sun is our bur when darkness sets in their true beauty is revealed only if there is light from within. We will keep her forever in our hearts because she never forgot us even though we were separated by thousands of miles. Dawn was filled with a light that shone from within her heart and she allowed us all to bask in her soft glow and for that we give thanks. Dawn will be missed by her large extended leader, Cooper, Cyrus, Simon family and friends including Mahadeo Mangaru, Joseph Ceres and Patrick Blomfield.

Gone but never forgotten.....Lovingly submitted: Victoria "Vicky" Holas cousin/sister
