Francis “Francisco” Garthorne Fridal, born on December 27, 1968 in Edmonton Alberta, entered into rest at his home on October 19, 2014.
Francis grew up in the Malvern community of Scarborough, Ontario Canada and was a proud graduate of Lester B. Pearson Collegiate Institute.
After high school, Francis attended York University to complete his undergraduate studies in Political Science. He later earned the Canadian Risk Management Certificate at University of Toronto and was a registered Insurance Broker with RIBO (Registered Insurance Brokers of Ontario).
Francis was an entrepreneur and a “foodie” at heart and after pursuing many small business ideas such as Billy No Mates Apparel, Fever Magazine, A Trini & His Doubles and owning a hot dog stand, he finally upped the risk and pursued his childhood dream by opening Julie Mango’s International Food Emporium (O/A Julie Mango’s Inc.) on September 03, 2013.
Francis enjoyed cartoons, had a keen interest in all genres of music and was a skilled swimmer and rugby player. He loved football (soccer), and blended his gift working with youth with his interest in basketball by becoming involved with Grassroots Canada Basketball where he served as mentor and as Assistant Coach.
Francis was preceded in death by his father Francis Paulicarpe Fridal, He is survived by “The Matriarch”, Mrs. Audrey Fridal; his only child Akuna (his dog); siblings Floyd, Floydeen and Farley; his loving nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles, his girlfriend Candace and many devoted friends.
