Kathleen Elizabeth Pegg

Kathy was born at home to Betty & Edge Pegg on their farm in Claremont, north Pickering, joining her older brother Hal. She attended Mt. Zion one room school, Greenwood Public School and Pickering High School. Her postsecondary education was completed at the Macdonald Institute at the University of Guelph followed by Teacher’s College in Toronto. Kathy married Brian Beckett and raised two wonderful children, Alex and Erin in the house they built together in Ajax. Kathy taught JK through Grade 3 for more than 25 years with the Durham Region School Board at Glen Street and Westney Heights Public Schools. In the autumn of her life she reconnected with former high school friend Ken Lawlor, who became her loving husband last year. They shared a brief but wonderful time of travel, adventure, and love.
