Marie Thornton
August 8, 1951 - April 20, 2016
Thornton, Marie (nee Brady)
After a long illness bravely borne, Marie succumbed to breast cancer on April 20th, 2016. Survived by husband Alan, children Maurice (Marie-Hélène), Naomi (Andrew), Robert (Samantha), sister Ann (Albert), brother Tomas, sister-in-law Dolores, her nieces, nephews and a wonderful circle of friends both in Ireland and Canada.
In the final years of her life, Marie derived great pleasure from the time spent with her three grandchildren, James, Luisa and Olivia.
Although she is now at rest, we will continue to hold her close, as we ask you to do. She will be with us all as we continue to move through life, celebrating each milestone with her in our hearts.
A celebration of life will be held Sunday, May 1st at The Lake House (600 Liverpool Road, Pickering) from 11am to 2pm, with a memorial ceremony starting at 11am followed by a reception. All are welcome to join and celebrate a wonderful woman. Stories and memories to be shared are encouraged. Online condolences to alanthornton@rogers.com.
