<div itemprop="description">HOLLAND, Mark Stephen <br> <br>Surrounded by his loving family, after a short-term struggle with cancer, Mark Stephen Holland passed on to be with his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Mark was the beloved and devoted husband of Marcia (nee Barnett) for 27 years. Loving and treasured father of Courtney (residing in Texas) and Nicholas (at home). Precious son-in-law of Alfonso and Laura Barnett, dearest brother-in-law of Trevor Barnett (Mandy), Richard Barnett (Kathy), and caring uncle to his nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his adored and cherished parents, Marion Holland (1995) and Benjamin Holland (2014).Mark will be missed by many extended family and friends in Canada, the USA, England and Jamaica. <br> <br>Mark was born in Columbus, Ohio, where he attended Worthington High School and was a graduate of Bowling Green State University. He met Marcia in 1988 while she was visiting a friend at his home church, The Good Shepherd Baptist Church in Columbus. Their relationship blossomed and in 1989 Mark moved to Canada where he and Marcia were married in Hamilton, Ontario. Eventually settling in Ajax, Ontario, Mark began his lifelong career in the Pharmaceutical Industry primarily with Johnson & Johnson and Pfizer Canada. <br> <br>Mark watched with pride and joy as his daughter, Courtney, achieved great success at the National Ballet School and then as a full time dancer with Ballet Austin. He has been a guiding coach and mentor to his son, Nicholas, who played on the Durham City Basket Ball Team and the Ajax Football Club. <br> <br>Mark was a much loved member of The Gathering Place Church in Pickering where the small home prayer group were a constant support during his illness. He was deeply dedicated to his church family and its outreach, especially Alpha Canada and the Pickering Flea Market ministries. Through his involvement on committees and volunteering, Mark became a great friend and wise influence to many. Mark was kind, humble and steadfast, always ready to give of himself in whatever way he could. <br> <br>Visitation for Mark will take place at the MCEACHNIE FUNERAL HOME, 28 Old Kingston Road, Ajax, on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 from 2:00 p.m – 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at The Gathering Place, 1920 Bayly St, Pickering on Thursday, August 4, 2016 at 11:00 a.m., followed by interment at Pine Ridge Memorial Gardens, 541 Taunton Rd.
