Beloved mother of Janet Johnston (Reg), Ria Johnson (Werner), Peter van Asten (Dolly), Helma Britton (Murray), John van Asten (Carol), and Henry van Asten (Mary/Diane). Mathea was a loved and cherished Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, and Great-Great Grandmother. Visitation will be held at the McEACHNIE FUNERAL HOME, 28 Old Kingston Road, Ajax, 905-428-8488 on Sunday, July 17, 2016 from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. with a service on Monday, July 18, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment to follow at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.</div>
