Allan A. Jones
August 27, 1923 - September 7, 2014
WWII Veteran August 27, 1923- September 7, 2014
Adored husband, father and grandpa, his was a quiet and peaceful death at home in the presence of family. Married for almost 58 years to the love of his life Betty, wonderful father to David (Vicki), Kathy (Craig), Greg (Sammy) and proud grandpa to Graeme (Bailey), Kyle, Jordan, Braydon, Julie and Savannah. Al served time as a Pilot Officer with the RCAF during the Second World War. He went on to enjoy a long career as a writer but his favourite moments were those spent with his family at the summer cottage and on the ski slopes during the winter. He was always proud to say he skied up until the age of 80. Al had a great sense of humour, a love for music, and was never without a book or the latest copy of the New Yorker to feed his intellect. He was a class act - suave, debonnaire and truly a gentleman, well loved and respected. Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Al’s Life which will be held on Sunday October 26, 2014 at 424 Lawson Road, Scarborough from 2-4 p.m.
