The world lost one of its shining stars with the passing of Norman Michael Rudd on Monday, June 20, 2016 at St. Michael’s Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Norm was born 71 years ago in Birkenhead, England and was the son of the late Margaret (Peg) and Rainsforth (Ron) Rudd. Beloved husband to Marion (nee Moffatt) with whom he celebrated 38 years of marriage. Loving father of Colin and Marianne (David) and dear Nanda to Gavin and Lauren. Cherished brother to David and his late brother Rob. Adored brother-in-law to Judy, Fred, Carol, Ruth, Vince, Rob, Jan, Sue and Paul (Lindsay and Sam). Sadly missed by his nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Norm loved people and was passionate about the teaching profession.‎ His enthusiasm for life showed in every aspect of his life. He was a teacher, consultant, vice principal, principal and mentor with the Toronto District School Board and the best husband, father, grandfather and friend you could ever have. Norm never really retired, as he continued to work with the Board and later become the Program Co-ordinator with KLC College. He was a true Renaissance Man who built decks, fences, rec rooms etc. in his spare time. He also was the best DJ ever, known far and wide as “Stormin Norman”. Norm truly enriched the lives of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his wife, children and grandchildren whom he adored.
Family and friends will be received at the McEachnie Funeral Home, 28 Old Kingston Road, Ajax, on Sunday, June 26, 2016 from 2-4 pm. A celebration of Norm’s life will take place on Monday, June 27, 2016 at 1 pm at St. Paul’s On The Hill Church, 882 Kingston Road, Pickering with visitation one hour prior to service. A public internment will follow the service at Erskine and Fairmount Cemetery. In lieu of flowers we ask that donations be made to St. Paul’s on the Hill Anglican Church.
